Welkom

Mijn naam is Kristof Buntinx en ik probeer mij in te  zetten voor diegenen onder u die zich soms alleen en eenzaam voelen in onze samenleving. Deze algemene maatschappelijke problematiek zette mij aan het denken en bracht mij op de idee om te Brussel een project op te starten waarbij jongere en oudere holebi's samenwonen in serviceflats.

 Het bestaande initiatief L.A. Rieshuis te Amsterdam fungeerde gedeeltelijk als voorbeeld voor ons concept. Waar in Amsterdam gefocust wordt op oudere holebi's richt ik mij eveneens op deze doelgroep maar dan wel vanuit de idee om de scheidingslijn jong/oud op te heffen. Bedoeling is een leefgemeenschap aan te bieden die een getrouwere afspiegeling vormt van de gewone wereld waarin jong en oud met elkaar kunnen samenleven. Op deze manier wil ik mijn steentje bijdragen om de integratie van ouder wordende holebi's te bevorderen.

Het probleem van de eenzaamheid op oudere leeftijd stelt zich bijzonder scherp bij de holebi's. Dit komt omdat zij, veel meer nog dan hetero's en allochtonen bijvoorbeeld, op zichzelf zijn aangewezen. Zij kunnen immers slechts zelden steunen op de zorg vanwege kinderen en de traditionele familiebanden. Wanneer zij dan ook nog hun partner hebben verloren of alleenstaande zijn, is het risico op vereenzaming binnen deze doelgroep reëel.

Een aantal individuele veertigers en vijftigers hebben alvast positief gereageerd op dit initiatief. Zij behoren nog niet echt tot de belanghebbenden maar vragen zich nu reeds af hoe hun oude dag eruit zal zien.

Via onder meer de maandelijkse “Drinks at Seven” wordt HolebiHome als idee bekend en bespreekbaar gemaakt. Deze bijeenkomsten, een initiatief ondersteund door de Brusselse Holebi Senioren, de Belgian Business Association, Egalité, en de English-speaking Gay Group, gaan door, elke laatste woensdag van de maand tussen 19u en 21u,  in het charmante hotel Le Dixseptième in het hart van Brussel (Magdalenasteenweg, 25, rue de la Madeleine, 1000 Brussel, vlakbij Brussel Centraal). Je m'appelle Kristof Buntinx et j'essaye de me consacrer à ceux d'entre vous qui se sentent parfois seuls dans notre société. Ce problème m'a fait réfléchir et est à l'origine de mon idée de création d'un projet d'appartements-service à Bruxelles où tous les gays, lesbiennes ou bisexuels, jeunes ou moins jeunes pourraient vivre ensemble.

L'Initiative L.A. Rieshuis à Amsterdam a en partie servi de modèle à ce concept. Mais tandis qu'à Amsterdam, le but est de se concentrer sur les personnes âgées, je souhaite ouvrir le concept aux plus jeunes également afin d'éviter toute ségrégation. L'objectif est de créer une communauté davantage à l'image du monde actuel où toutes les générations cohabitent. De cette façon, je souhaite apporter une petite contribution à l'intégration des gays, lesbiennes et bisexuels âgés.

Le problème de la solitude est particulièrement marqué parmi les personnes âgées gays, lesbiennes et bisexuelles. Ceci parce que, davantage que les hétérosexuels ou les immigrés par exemple, ils doivent se débrouiller seuls car ils peuvent rarement compter sur des époux ou des enfants pour s’occuper d’eux. Le risque d’isolement est d’autant plus important pour les célibataires ou ceux qui ont perdu leur partenaire.

Un certain nombre de quarantenaires et cinquantenaires ont déjà réagi positivement à cette initiative. Ils ne sont pas directement impliqués mais s’inquiètent déjà pour leur vieillesse.

A travers les « Drinks at Seven » mensuels entre autres, l’intérêt pour HolebiHome grandit et devient peu à peu un sujet de discussions. Ces réunions, une initiative soutenue par le Holebis Seniors Bruxelles, la Belgian Business Association, le English Speaking Gay Group et Egalité sont organisées chaque dernier mercredi du mois entre 19 et 21 heures, dans le charmant hôtel Le Dixseptième, situé au cœur de Bruxelles (25, rue de la Madeleine, 1000 Bruxelles, près de la Gare de Bruxelles-Central). My name is Kristof Buntinx and I try to dedicate myself to those among you who sometimes feel alone and lonely in our society. This general social issue made me think and gave rise to the idea to start up a project in Brussels whereby both younger and older gays, lesbians and bisexuals live together in service flats.

The existing initiative L.A. Rieshuis in Amsterdam served partially as an example for our concept. Whilst in Amsterdam the focus is on older people, I also concentrate on this target group but in order to remove the divide between young and old. The aim is to create a community that is a more faithful reflection of the regular world in which young and old can live together. In this way, I want to contribute my mite to promote the integration of aging gays, lesbians and bisexuals.

The issue of loneliness is particularly acute among older gays, lesbians and bisexuals. This is because they, more so than heterosexuals and immigrants, for example, are left to their own devices, since they are seldom able to rely on the care provided by children and traditional family ties. If they have furthermore lost their partner or are single, the risk of isolation within this particular target group is real.

A number of individuals in their forties and fifties have already reacted positively to this initiative. They are not actually directly involved, but already wonder what their old age will be like.

Via the monthly “Drinks at Seven”, among others, HolebiHome becomes known as an idea and a subject of discussion. These meetings, an initiative supported by the Brussels Holebi Seniors, the Belgian Business Association, the English-speaking Gay Group, and Egalité, take place every last wednesday of the month, between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m., in the charming hotel Le Dixseptième in the heart of Brussels (25 rue de la Madeleine, 1000 Brussels, nearby the Brussels Central Station).
